What are your thoughts about letting the bridesmaids pick their own dresses? I want them to be comfortable and be able to wear them again, but I also want them to match and look okay in the pictures. Hmm...what to do...

I'm torn on that issue as well. On one hand, I've seen some awesome pictures where everyone looks really nice because they've all chosen a dress that is best for them. On the other hand, I've heard of wedding parties that have a lot of drama for the bride in the process of everyone picking their dresses.
Personally, if I were a bridesmaid again, I would LOVE IT if the bride told me to choose my own dress!

That's what I've been wrestling with as well! If I were a bridesmaid I would love to choose my own, but as a bride I can only imagine what they might come up with on their own! Not to sound selfish, but I don't want anyone to look out of place or the pictures to look bad!! On a good note though, I'm fairly positive the dresses will be black and I love chiffon, so I think if I tell them to just get a knee length black chiffon dress it would look really nice. And if the girls look a little different, that might add some uniqueness to the pictures!
